Qena at the Pan-African Artificial Intelligence conference 2022
Addis Ababa hosted the first Pan African Conference on Artificial intelligence (AI) from October 4-5, 2022, at the newly built Museum of Art and Science, at Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The conference hosted the Head of State, Ministers, officials of AI, researchers, and policymakers.
The conference was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of FDRE, H.E Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D.), and has been visited by different stakeholders from all over Ethiopia.
Organized by the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute in collaboration with Ethio telecom and the Prime minister office, it hosted Heads of states, ministers and computer scientists from various countries of Africa and the world at large
The conference has identified six thematic areas as its primary focuses including public services, cyber-security, agriculture, public health, geographic information system and Trustworthy and Ethical.
Ethiopia is often considered by many as one of the continent’s leading hubs for artificial intelligence. Addis Ababa has experience in welcoming large international delegations for it is the seat of the continental organization and international organizations including the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa.
Qena, a digital lending, had the opportunity to showcase it’s AI-driven credit scoring system that measures individual, micro, and small businesses creditworthiness for collateral-free loans to the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D.), and Kenyan president William Ruto D.P.M and other Ministers, and respected guests, and showed its impact on MSME sector and the Countries economy.
Developed under the Kifiya Financial Technology PLC, Qena Digital lending is Ethiopia’s first Digital lending platform that uses AI powered credit scoring system to assess MSMEs creditworthiness for collateral-free loans.
