Qena at the DFS Ethiopia Showcase 2022
Qena Digital Lending is honored to participate in the first DFS Ethiopia Showcase hosted by Ethiopia’s Digital Financial Services Working Group with the support of the United Nations Capital Development Fund and its partners at the Inter Luxury hotel from 19 -20 October 2022. The Event was attended by over 60 participants among which are DFS players, Banks, end users, policymakers, the private sector & the general Ethiopian public.
The Digital Financial Services Working Group-Ethiopia, convened and launched by UNCDF and its partners, is organizing the first DFS Ethiopia Showcase event as part of its mandate to unite all DFS players to collaborate and work towards advancing the country’s digital economy. The showcase will provide a platform for over 40 DFS players to display their innovations contributing to achieving the digital transformation priorities of Ethiopia.
The event brought various stakeholders together to share best practices and facilitate networking with other ecosystem players and high-level decision-makers from government and industry. Additionally, it is hoped to enhance interactions on varied issues, including a policy and regulatory environment that encourages competition and supports technological innovations that cater to the marginalized and ensure their full participation in the digital economy.
Qena Digital lending as part of the DFS working group was able to present its innovative AI-powered credit scoring and digital lending platform at this first event which aimed to foster networks, cooperation and relationships among all stakeholders involved in the digital financial services (DFS) industry.
Panelists and speakers from the government, the private sector and international development agencies lined for the unique sessions over the two days to discuss and explore ways to accelerate Ethiopia’s digital transformation in line with its ‘Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy.’
